DANGERS OF CIGARETTE

In the still of night, glowing
ember, bright as mercury, lights
of deceit, this hidden danger,
in the curl of some's delight,
within the slender stick, a sure
peril reside, the lure of fleeting
pleasure, slow effects ensues.

Oh, the dangers of the flame,
a cancer so cunningly veiled,
a silent thief of health, a force
that can't be curtailed, nor tamed
Its whispered promises of calm,
a call of deceitful siren, for in its
toxic embrace, it claims its toll.
