The years they once knew,
And the years they’ve grown to know.
They’ve taught me well ,
And with that knowledge I’ll use as I grow
As they grow old ,
When they’re no longer young .
Those days when i once were still a child,
longing for the time when melodies were sung .
As years go by and I’m the age that they were ,
I’ll long to go back to when they were younger .
Because most memories will mostly become a blur .
I’ll wish to go back to those times,
And as much as I long to grow older,
forgetting that they’ll grow old as well ,
As I think of when they’ll whither ,
my nights will forever grow colder.
