Lake of Tears
A poets soul pours out their words
Into hearts needing to be heard
And they tell it all within each line
Giving others hope with a rhyme
All our emotions from intense fears
Are captured into the lake of tears
Spilling onto the pages as we cry
Knowing our words will never die
Somehow everything comes to play
With all the words we’re meant to say
And as we drown in this lake of ink
We realize tears spell what we think
A poets work can never be complete
For their soulful ink will never deplete
Reaching the audience one by one
Knowing their words touch someone
Though sometimes it hurts too much
Poets inspire with their deadly touch
Twisting the words in a special way
Creating pure magic to take you away
Poets must lay everything on the line
By dying on pages with their rhyme
Bleeding out their souls for all to see
And creating feelings to their poetry
