external life left to cower, as internal thought gains power
the war of falsehood and truth all wrapped in terror and soot


from smoke to ash in the clouds of my eyes,
I am blind
walking a web of lies
from the wire that was once a lifeline
I am falling through the false and the foul
as if together they form the opposite of fiction



it is not fiction
it is real


there is no way what I lived through
was never
