The radiant night goddess shadows me departing home
As I reacquaint myself with these streets I used to roam
My early misconceptions painted this as a time of monsters and unimagined fright
However I've grown to welcome such obsidian skies with renewed delight
The endless possibilities they keep concealed
Their buried secrets soon to be revealed
With the receding of the nighttide
When the hands of fate and time coincide
I'm the only soul awake in this City of Sleep
Embarking now towards a dream I pray to reap
Let these stars burn to guide my way
One day I'll join them, but tonight I'll stay
Pursuing these brighter tomorrows
Days far removed from tenfold sorrows
Foregoing your path of least resistance
In favor of the one I carved through sheer persistence
I'm catching this last ride to Heaven
There's no denying that I'm driven
As I viciously cycle through ethereal spheres
Moving past sepia-tinged tears
To some this sounds idealistic
Yet to me it's being realistic
Because every end is a new beginning
Piecing together this puzzle has revealed what's been missing
By regaining sight of this innate destiny
In becoming the person I'm meant to be
And through brand new eyes I now realize
I'm not simply building castles in monochrome skies
