I Miss My Friend,
My pepper- red eyes pooled and poured warm tears on my cheeks,
Hot tears, salty as the ocean.
They streamed along the contusions on my grimaced face,
Falling off like raind drops ...
Drenching my cotton t-shirt.
A picturesque portrait of my ally's smile swayed back and forth in my mind,
His loud laughter escaped my ears.
I've never heard his whispers, but it's wild how I hope to some day.
I'm not angry or bitter,
My shoulders drop at the weight of my heart though,
I miss my friend, the one I've grown so fond of.
I hope our foliage grow towards the light again,
Even as the old leaves wither and die.
