Amenirdis had a way with men as her copper skinned lover held her close,

She's no mere "chantress" like the other priestesses who serve the Gods alone,
Her role as "God's Wife" is a title many royal women held to support the throne,
Acting as the human consort of the god Amun at the Temple at Karnak is she,
Leading sacred processions with the King or deputy high priest so proudly.

She can enter the innermost temple to make offerings to appease her Deity,
Defends Egypt by magical means by shooting burning arrows at an effigy,
The enemies are the target representing
her power over things beyond this land,
Amenirdis has a wealthy and powerful role at a time men had the upper hand.

She is the protector and mother to many but is daughter to the Pharaoh,
He elevated her to a position to enhance his own status by the connection so
Let the whole of Upper and Lower Egypt see theirs is a divine house indeed,
As she's able to delegate on a King's behalf in temple or matters of state agreed.

Amenirdis relishes the way they look at her with reverence and the doting acts,
Her man rests in her arms and he's useful in helping her to slowly relax,
Yet he's little more than inconsequential in a world so much bigger than he,
Kept a secret from the others lest they doubt her devotion and honored purity.

A Kushite princess she's known luxury and prestige well before now for sure,
But she worships Amun and speaks directly to the King as his mediator,
Thebes and it's temples have vast wealth and prestige, economic resources hers,
She is the voice they listen to and she'll never relinquish this role she prefers.
