I hope I can one day look at a mirror
without judgement, without hatred
to every fibre of my being

I hope I can one day look at a mirror
without worries of staring eyes
to not keep myself imprisoned in what-ifs

but for now I can't see me
in mirrors or in pictures
refusing any occasion where I could

hyperfixating on any detail
my thighs, my chest, my arms
scrutinized to fit my ideal
unreachable and unrecognisable

I hope I can one day look at a mirror
and see this body as mine
