we would all like to be a superhero
with a cape and super powers
we don't care to see the ones around us
the ones who save the day

nobody needs a cape to save someone
heroes can be found in mundane things
superhero is a word people look up to
but they don't realize there is one right in front of them

Spiralling from deep within the cave.
Beckoned to roar by the bold and the brave.
Charging forward the chariot of the bat..
As mysterious as the answers of the Riddler.
Hunting in the Gothic jungle for the guilty.
A dark comet's red tail ignites.

I have no expectations as this world owes me nothing.
Love has touched my bones, though they were broken,
their only remedy open eyes watching comets come crashing,
ripping open my atmosphere where I allowed toxic thoughts
and fumes to utterly consume the boy I never allowed to heal

I’m going to tell you about my teacher
who’s absolutely brill
she has a really pretty face
and a tan from Notting Hill.

Well, one day, doing circle time
we were sitting in the floor
when a new girl appeared at the window
then knocked upon the door.

‘Come in!’ says Miss, dead kindly like.
‘Come in and join our class’.
‘My name is Cinderella’, she said.
‘Have you found my slipper of glass?

‘I lost it going home last night
while running for the bus.
It was almost after midnight
I have no expectations as this girl owes me nothing.
nobody needs a slipper to save someone
Cinderella can be found in the castle
