How can we be so close

Yet you still can't understand me
How do you smile at me that way

I can't help but smile too

How do you make my heart melt

When we exchange looks unexpectedly

How could I have known
I'd grow to care so much for you

How suddenly, we are forced apart

But I'm not ready to let you go

Losing you hurts too much

It hurts more knowing you don't know
How much I wonder, what if

I'd been more courageous or less blind

To seeing how you light my heart afire

How many moments did we miss

When I was too afraid to ask for a kiss
But maybe it's better this way

To not have to suffer happiness

Bringing us pain when it ends

How much might you wonder

If this poem is about you
But then I doubt you will know it

Since you never even noticed me

Don't mistake me, I'm not bitter

How could you know, the fool I know

Could never tell how others felt
I guess you'll never know how I fell

Back then my head was full of clouds

And my eyes of stardust, but oh well

I'll always remember you
