Loneliness

Get up with the alarm embrace the day, money to earn and bills to pay.

Grab my jacket and lock the door, off I go to work once more.

Greet the people that I meet, at work at play and in the street.

Sit and wish my life away, tell myself tomorrow's another day.

Pick my daughter up from the school, can't believe she has grown so tall.

Drive back home to my flat, get out the car and stroke my cat.

Put in the key unlock the door and greet the loneliness once more.

Sit and poor myself a drink, about my future try not to think.

Take out my pen and start to write, it's getting late I'm losing the light.

Damn this poem get out my head, put pen to paper then off to bed.

It's time to rest and try to sleep, then up with the alarm, rince and repeat.
