Ode to Rain
O rain, thou art soft falling shower,
And thou hath more power.
Thou originate from the heart of the bottomless sea,
In the form of vapours, thou flee.

To the blue azure sky,
And meet thy bosom friend and fly.
Thou form clouds heavy and dark,
Which then explodes and light sparks.

And then thou desend to the ground,
With thy twinkling drops thou make us spellbound.
Thou clean the dust,
And quench our thirst.

Thou make the cropfields green,
And the filthy streets clean.
Thou hath a rythem in thy voice,
And thy voice let the Earth rejoice.
