Love Lost
I don't know just how we got to here.
Cracking jokes and holding hands.
Taking in with delight, and free of fear.
One another's essence in our love lands.
Oh, just two bubbling pots of cheer.
Clueless as to just how our lives would pan.
Oh, so sweet, so free and so clear.

Alas, upon these waves of loss.
We've succumbed to fruitless effort.
From here we seldom count the cost.
Hate into love we must first revert.
And melt from round our hearts this frost.
Till once and for all love's unearthed.
Then found may be our often sought, love lost.
