Went up into the air
Outside the window

Was in the air

They were mere dots

Stripped of their beauty
Children with their heads tilted back
Lost in a zone

On where

Bobbing up and down
Won’t hold still
To tie the colored string round
Every color of fruit represented
Strawberry cherry
Raspberry lemon
Orange blueberry
And lime
Kiddos with hands out
Waiting for their shiny balloon
Bouncing up and down
Just like pogo sticks
Claiming their prize
With starry eyes
Ribbons wrapped round
Sticky fingers
Bobbing balloons
Pulling
To break free
Free to the great
Vast blue above
