I keep clinging to shadows,
a grip slipping,
my heart's weighed down.

I can't keep this tether,
the strains too much,
your ghost suffocates me.

A gentle touch,
a cruel addiction,
I crave it still,
but you broke me,
left me in ruins.

You destroyed me,
left me decaying,
a hollowed being.

Drench my room in alcohol,
ignite the past, take a drink and
erase you from my soul.

More than just gone,
an echo that haunts.

You stole everything,
scattered my dreams,
yet I persist.

I clutch at fragments,
each one sharp,
my strength fading.

I can't keep holding,
the pains relentless,
an inner storm.

I grasp at pieces,
hope in tatters,
shattered and lost.

I clutch at shards,
until nothing's left,
but cinders and echoes,
and a heart that beats,
despite the pain.
