A Sight
#WritcoPoemPrompt98
Adrift
spreading in the wind
strings unraveled
a kite with no end
amidst waves of faceless crowds
bursting seeds of dandelions
pulling apart
roots strain and burn
the ground falling away
with a crisp break, ripped out
a barren heart, bleeding silent
screams
with meanings lighter than a feather
lost in blankets of the bleak sky
the poison of solitude
tightly stitched lips
sewn button eyes
the lack of tears
Then, white rain come
wild strokes hung hungrily
a frantic struggle before it's end
corpses across the gray plane
the yellow, boiling sun
light like tangled strands
stretching against one's throat
choking on a lump of burnt flesh
the red loathe throttles
like abandon, a painless death
the spring of madness, a single sip
dancing till the summer ends
since you come
pain dispersed in your eyes
a prism of light
suspended wavelengths
colours whirling -
A sight.
