AN OLD YELLIW DOG GOES HOME
The old yellow dog laid in the sun dreaming of days gone by.
Of chasing rabbits he never caught but oh how he loved to try.
He dreamed of the times his boy would throw a ball then "fetch!" the boy would say.
Then off he'd fly to get the ball so they would play a game called keep away.
He dreamed of duck hunts when he'd would be so wet he'd never dry out or that is how it seemed.
And Of how when they got home at night he would lie down by the fire and steam.
He dreamed of summer days and walks by the lake and how good it felt to swim.
How good the cool water felt when it soaked through...
