Speared with Despair
I find in me a hole,
left within without fill,
by before, my worries,
pains so surreal.

But in it I see
the cloud of silver linings,
bright hope that my mind holds,
though the surrounding green wither away
and the blue sky blanch.

The trees skeletal,
the sparkling lights are out,
but still I hold.
Hold dear to heart barely there,
the hopes of yesteryears
that made me hop in rejoice.

Past joy, my greasing oil.
On it concrete I rest my foot,
my tired waist, I rest on wood,
contemplating step I should take and I would.

Soon enough the green grass,
shall grace my feet once again.
'All there is' is to rise from despair,
find those that same hope we share.
See the brilliant city light ahead!
It's just a few steps away,
take it one after the first,
take away the emptiness,
fill it with happiness
as I draw near to the end of my worthlessness.
