Bereft
#EunoiaExpress
Write a poem that uses only one vowel throughout the entire piece but still manages to convey a range of emotions
~Bereft~ (the vowel 'e')
He left me here, bereft, bereaved
He never kept the pledge he weaved
He never felt the depth he cleaved
He never sensed the grief he heaved
He fled the scene, he fled the deed
He fled the hell he helped to breed
He fled the spell he broke with speed
He fled the shell he left to bleed
He wrecked my dreams, he wrecked my needs
He wrecked my schemes, he wrecked my creeds
He wrecked my beams, he wrecked my seeds
He wrecked my gleams, he wrecked my reeds
He stole my heart, he stole my peace
He stole my art, he stole my fleece
He stole my part, he stole my lease
He stole my start, he stole my cease
He left me here, bereft, bereaved
He never knew the wretch he weaved
He never saw the death he cleaved
He never felt the breath he leaved
