heavy blankets,
layers and snow.
The warmth of
skin upon skin.
Mechanical warmth
flooding homes,
Skin friendly sunlight
and sitting under the sun.
Warm memories while
drinking hot chocolate and
you think
"if only winter
could last forever"

Some people
loathe the winter.
the long sleeves
soaked in warm tears.
Their skin only shivers
in goosebumps
cold hands and feet; nearly ice.
They don't talk about
cold homes and pale
ghostly sunlight
with cold breeze.
There are only cold memories
when winter is never
your kind of weather. and you think
