The Truth
The truth came to my house one Sunday,
Stood by the door
Then my wife to the kitchen did go!
And my children too couldn't stay,
So off the house they did go!
'Cause the truth stood by my door.

The truth came by my house one Sunday,
Stood on my tongue
And to all my friends in the house sang
What my heart knew not was to them stray
Then my marras matched off my house with rage
Not able to withstand my adage.

Who then loves the truth?
For first like a cool breeze it does sooth
Then like a hornet it stings
And leaves like a bee with wings
Causing all to clatter like broken twigs
The truth saves and kills.
