Glimmer

Her eyes gleamed with the light
Of her inner strength,
She had walked miles,
Not worried about the length or life expelled.
Is it the thrill of the chase,
Or is it something deeper? it asked.
To the one who holds your pulsating lifebeat into their grasp,
Ever deeper in the moonlit twilight, where silence expands.
They writhe with sweaty, exotic fervor and pre-trembles.
No climax of repartee in proximity. no lucid waters ahead,
But amidst the uncertainty, and the doubts that loom,
They see a flicker of hope, a light in the gloom.
Maybe, just maybe, she lays her eyes down on you too.
In the bypaths your eyes lock,
So much and many things left unsaid.
Bygones of your shared laughter, heated nap-time tales echoe in head,
Your fingers grasping into ideas and hope, that of a life-line in the dark.
You let it guide you. Like a compass or a spark,
To navigate the sometimes murky waters of loves unpredictable sea.
Knowing that whatever will be, will simply be. -JT23
