The fear of God is like no other
I fear what He can do
I fear His power
I fear hearing the words "Depart from me, I never knew you."

For those who do not follow Him, this fear should be pure terror
If you do not feel it now...
you will
On the day of Jesus's return you will be flooded with regret and horror as you realize your mistake
You will run and cry and scream
and find no escape
It will be too late
If you live your life separate from God,
you will suffer your eternity separate from Him
Separate from all things good
come to Him
before it is too late.

For those who live to serve the Lord, this fear is more complex
It is a mix of pure love for Him,
for all things He has done,
Whilst fearing His wrath
It is knowing His capabilities
Knowing what He can do to you
Knowing what we, as sinners, are deserving of
It is indescribable

When standing before Him I will be flooded with
fear
love
awe
admiration
terror
calm
peace
All together
All at once
It is indescribable

Fear God
Fear keeps us humble
Fear motivates us to follow His commandments
Fear keeps us in line
Fear reminds us of our place

Fear Him
Follow Him
The fear of Him is the only fear that shall prosper
With Him, all others will be destroyed

Fear nothing but our Lord
