Vivian
I saw a being,
she being the one my heart instantly adored.
She looked at me,
presenting a chance for me to never let her go.

On the bus to nowhere,
we spoke like it wasn’t the first time, flawless.
Magic in the air,
our conversation got too personal in too little time.

I told her about the darkness in me,
she smiled as if darkness could bring light to a dark room.
I was confused as a church mouse,
till she told me of how the void could be filled if you could share the dark room with someone new.

I know I shouldn’t have,
but the ring on her finger was just a gimmick.
I took her number,
now I know we’ll make new memories.

I haven’t called her yet,
I’m creating suspense so she wonders about me.
I hope it won’t be too late,
when the phone finally rings and her voice is on the other side.

I swear my heart can’t wait,
but my mind tells me that if all is in due time, it will be as it should be.
I want her,
but I won’t mind losing her.

She’s a work of art,
I suppose God spared no thought in perfecting her.
I wish I could tell her,
but I know better than to indulge her pride

Vivian, her name,
it suits her, like flowers in the rain.
Unparalleled beauty, no claim,
she should have been mine sooner, I’d have her, with no shame.
