The Need to be Needed
I yearn to be wanted, to be needed,
To feel important, not just succeeded,
But too often I'm second choice,
An afterthought, with a muted voice.
I long for a place in someone's heart,
A role that cannot be torn apart,
To be cherished and held in high esteem,
The star of their every dream.
Oh, to be the one they turn to first,
When life gets rough and quenches their thirst,
To know that I'm their go-to guide,
A constant presence by their side.
I crave the warmth of their embrace,
The glow of love upon their face,
To know that I'm their everything,
Their world, their heart, their everything.
So, won't you please just hold me tight,
And tell me everything's all right?
Assure me that I am enough,
And that with me, life's road is smooth.
For in this world that's often cold,
