Action!
The curtain opens
The curtain opens every morning
As I put on a show for my audience
Hiding my true self from everyone
I feel like a puppet, in a kids show
Being controlled,
according to the scriptwriter’s liking
The director shouts Action!
That’s how I know it’s my queue
But it’s when the curtain closes,
that the actual action happens
Behind the scenes ,
are the pangs of a real life character
It’s behind the scenes,
that the tears become real
Behind the scenes,
are the insecurities of a lost character
It’s behind the scenes,
where the confidence boosting takes place
to give you my best performance.
