Bad Day
Everybody has those days
No one knows when it's today
Anyone is blind to the grim
Some have fun, today not him
He cannot talk about it
All he does is let it sit

Even those who'd listen,
He feels
His life's not their concern,
For a single pair of intent ears
He yearns, to take away these fears
They have no base
No reason no rhyme
Yet they alone consume his time
Today, but you won't find it on his face

They don't know why
He didn't laugh, or did
But not the time
They wanted, or forbid
Why he sounds so queer
Why he failed so dear
Why he bleeds a tear
Think he didn't hear,
What they say in their shade
What they won't say to his face
Think he doesn't feel the shame
Think he's the one who's lame
When it should be them, ashamed

But inside he knows it's daft,
All they see is the smokescreen he crafts

He wonders...

Why does everyone worth keeping
Slowly seem to fade away?

Why does the sun that cures the frozen
Burn the bodies, laid as bait?

Why does that smile wither so
When he thought they were okay?

Because he can't stand quite as proud
He faltered for just one day

A bad day
