Kyle
Kyle

Your visual aspect, your smile and your embrace will remain foreign
You never knew the comfort of your mother’s arms, all the adoration
Your handsomeness perished in solitude
The pain your mother felt can never be construed

I hate that your very short existence became a paradox
And in my cowardice I could not do what was orthodox
My behavior was vile, unwarranted and nothing can substantiate my stupidity
She was alone in all the pain and adversity when I lost my lucidity

I ran from my responsibility and I lost all dependability
Selfishly thinking about all that I could lose and in the end I lost you to my disability
Forgive me Kyle and please forgive my imprudent cowardice
You could have been an Adonis if I had not been acrimonious & anomalous

Ignobly, I failed to make you an encapsulation of our love
The very embodiment of promises I made swearing upon the name of the Being who art above
Instead, the remarks I made to your mother were somewhat disparaging
Stressed, she bled you out copiously. Nature’s way of pillaging

Our hopes were dashed as our destinies clashed
Blame assigned elsewhere as I felt abashed
Outlandishly, I mocked her love for both you & me
And on her own, she gathered herself from the debris

I miss you Kyle and yet I never experienced you
I love you more as my musings about you continue to accrue
I imagine you with shinny gold wings flying with angels
I could have been a proud father coming to all your poetry recitals

This is not a eulogy and yet I feel like an epitapher
In my profound pain I couldn’t conjure up words, there was no perfect grammar
Not intelligible was the loss, unfathomable was the cost
My world kept crumbling and your departure was my Holocaust
