Unprocessed Grief
Goodbye little one,
Ease your stillborn head
Your journey has ended before it begun,
But though you now lie dead,
In my heart, your memory will carry on.

In the embrace of earth, your second mother
I pray you find eternal joy even within this night
And as you pass beyond and into the other,
Know my eyes bleed rivers even now as I write
Tears and ink flow from a heart torn asunder.

While you wait, save a place for me up there
In that final resting place, beyond the gates
Save a place for me, until I render to despair.
These burdens crush my soul like stone weights
while I remain, I will cry my sorrow to the air
The earth will be drenched by my weary eyes
Ice cold waves perpetually whisper, life is unfair.

Dearest little sister, I knew you not
Like the blackbird's song, you left far too soon
Your unknown absence is like a crushing knot
Til the end I will bear the void of you,
Wishing with every part of me to see you living
Even to see you smile.

Until we are reunited, little one remember
Your big brother holds you close in his heart
There's a hundred million things I would say
But each word brings such an ocean of tears
My body would soon become self mummified
And so I will wait,
For that day when I shed sorrow's crown
And finally meet you again, for the first time
Maybe then my stone heart will grow and thrive
In that place, far beyond the sky and stars.
