The Mighty YAMATO
#WritcoPoemPrompt28
She floats like a dream,
Before she sinks under,
Carrying in her folds,
The dying cries of the soldiers.
The mighty warship,
The pride of the navy,
T'was not only powerful,
But beautiful like something in tapestry.
Not just a machine,
More than a ship,
A blend of emotions,
A fusion of delight.
She was an colossal battleship,
Not afraid to die,
To prevent her nation,
She was ready to lie.
Armed with nine guns,
Hurling to 26 miles,
7.5 per minute was the rate,
But she was sent for suicide.
On high noon of April 7,
She sailed in Okinawa,
She fought for hours 3 ,
Then she capsized.
The proud martyred ship,
Inverted haughtily,
Mourned by everyone,
There stationed the Yamato,
in her watery grave, dolefully.
