This wall around my heart did not appear over night.

You say, let my guard down...

.... To not let you in just isn't right.

Your not the only one who wishes it would fall...
You cannot climb over for it is fairly tall.

I did not build it, nor request it.
At times I myself dont understand it at all.

I do know it was built by others,
...yet now I've used it as a protector.

If you knew why each brick was there,
you would understand...what your asking just is not fair!

To get inside takes some time.
A hammer and chisel comes to my mind.

It will take much patience followed by days of sweat.

You may give up ...
throw in the towel..
...tell me you quit.

Start by making a window to look inside, to see where I have been.
Everything will make much more sense.

If you stay true ... next a door will do.
Yet if you go ..youll be surely missed.

I await the day that you walk though...collapse in your arms, give you a kiss.
Forever yours ... ..
