I quit
I quit, is what I said that day
I left my job and walked away
My boss was really caught off guard
That horrible, slimy load of lard

I hated him, my boss, I did
More than an employee ever should
But overworked and tired I was
I worked as hard as anyone does

It was my time to say my piece
And leave that place of dirt and grease
I felt so free as I walked out
My colleagues were in awe without a doubt

My wife is gone, she took the car
All day and night I'm at a bar
My fridge is empty, my clothes are loose
I wake up anytime I choose

It's already been two weeks since then
Today a failed interview, yet again
My bills are high, my bank balance low
So many years and nothing to show

I have no friends, not one to call
There's no one to help, no one at all
I'm feeling quite down I have to admit
I'm kind of regretting the day I quit
