The Unseen Beauty
I've always been told that beauty depends on the outside
However, the real beauty is on the inside
Being pretty is apparently a duty
While kindness measures our inner beauty

People often forget about the true us
First impressions are everything, and thus,
By my personality, have I been misjudged?
But I will never ever be budged

I wish that someone could see me for who I am
Can I shut people up and will the door, on their faces, will I slam?
For, they expect me to be perfect, like a machine
They can never figure out my beauty which is unseen

I never show my real face to people, you see
For, I'm afraid they're gonna hate me
But my fears, did I get it
Ridden?
I started to figure out the beauty that was hidden

People judging me, do I dread?
For, my worst bully is often inside my head
I just, for once, want to be seen as worthy
About myself do I worry?

I finally earned some respect
This wasn't a thing I would usually expect
For, I realized even the most prettiest things have various forms
Even the roses have their dangerous thorns

I wish that someone could see me for who I am
Can I shut people up and will the door, on their faces, will I slam?
For, they expect me to be perfect, like a machine
They can never figure out my beauty which is unseen

I never show my real face to people, you see
For, I'm afraid they're gonna hate me
But my fears, did I get it
Ridden?
I started to figure out the beauty that was hidden
