Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were
shattered.


Walking by your classroom,
I see you.
I wandered in hopeful,
hands fidgeting , breaths steady.

You don't look up,
You're 'focused'.
You don't look at me.

The pit grows larger inside me,
swallowing me whole,
I try to reach to you,
nothing comes to mind.
The distance grows between us
silence oh so deafening
my mind runs faster
faster
and fast-.

You break the silence .
As soon as your eyebrows relax,
You've realised your mistake.

The words felt like a dagger.
a weak sorry escapes,
it's over.
I'm broken,
my heart shatters ,
pieces fallinng into the abyss below.

I get up.
Feeling the world's eyes on me,
running away
eyes burning
the words on repeat like a broken record.


" Can you go away please."
