Respect the wind
I was taught to respect the wind
Then one day I was thrown out
To fend for myself across the mountains.
The region was new to me
I had heard stories
Of death on the peaks
A murder mountain sure enough
People disappeared
The land was crawling with monsters
And people were never heard of again
So as I crossed the threshold
The silence was a warning
The silence was always my friend
Informing me that silence was unnatural
Then it began to snow
I paced until I could no more
The rocks were lost beneath
The white was a cover for everything
I had no notion of how
Of how I'd get out alive
Of how I'd get enough food
Of how I'd get enough drink
How would I recover from a fall
How would I defend myself against attack
Then closing my eyes I became a drifter
Into sleep
