You say something to her and it's a joke
It upsets her but she knows if she speaks out she'll be marked overreacting.
She says something to you, it's a joke
But this is different it upsets you so she needs to be retracting.

You tell her she must always tell others if she's uncomfortable with something
But if she does this with you, she's become a bad person.
She'll apologize profusely of course since you mean everything
But all her feelings about it, aren't as important as any of you, so it's now abandoned.

She loves them so much, sometimes her emotions slip
No matter how hard she tries to catch a grip.

It takes so much energy, to try to live within their bounds.
She's been there for so long for so many who gave up on her so fast.
They don't know how many times she wanted to give up on them too
But she stuck around to be the hope and strength no matter what had them surrounded

The masses thought she was the one who quit
She knew she'd play the game too
After all, what's the point if she did admit
Made her feel better too, not so crazy, didn't mind at all being the bad dude
With all her flaws never the favourite
Just encircled by all these hypocrites

She would do it again in a heartbeat
She did it out of love not recognition
It was always of the elite.
But she's drained now,
Their behaviour is always a repetition
They didn't know how rare the edition
