I only pray for your patience

I can't see you crying because you are still standing in the rain
With all your smiles, your pain i failed to ascertain
I misconstrued your frown for something bitter in your mouth
I was deaf to your silent screams yet they were very loud

You continued to mistake my ignorance for nonchalance
Now you are ice cold and i can almost feel the avalanche
It has been a slippery slope and my negligence led to this flop
I really thought we were infallible, but the ball i continued to drop

My hubris has deemed my love notorious and spurious
My emotions and feelings now seem just plausible and yet extraneous
My erroneous ways and my folly have made me ignominious
They warned you about my nature, our love became felonious

You were always patient with me and my shenanigans
And i ignored all your pleas and i was deaf to your admonitions
I have learnt how much you mean to me during this abeyance
I now beg for your forgiveness and i only pray for your patience
