When are my musings about you going to come to an end? When will my longing for you be fulfilled? You have no idea how much this bothers me. Share your thoughts by composing a poem about it.

my thoughts drift
when I think about you
I don't know who I am
for I've been losing my self in you

you keep your distance
I don't understand why
I just want you to hold me
tonight or any night and every night

I want you to be here
with me talking to me
I long for you
but you long for the girl
that is perfect and put together
the girl that isn't broken
and messed up
the one you like better than me
the one you long for instead of me

by losing myself in you
I didn't need to think
what was right for myself
by losing myself in you
I could escape a world that I needed to

by thinking about you holding me
I felt comforted at night
when I couldn't sleep
but it was just an illusion in my head
you were the illusion I wanted
but that was it an illusion
and now that your gone
with the girl you long for
I realize I'm happier without you
I can see the world for what it is
without the lenses with your name
written across them

the world is brighter
the world is greener
and I know someday
I will find someone
that longs for me
as much as I once longed for you
