we never talk about it -
that feeling between us two,
but every time we meet
I sense you feel it, too
we're both too afraid
to speak from our hearts
for fear that everything
around us will fall apart
so in idle smalltalk we engage
for our longing to assuage
and when we run out of topics
and don't know what else to say
into each other's arms
we eventually find our way
our hugs convey what
in words we can't express
that deep affection
we don't dare to confess
in our soulful tight embrace
all that's unsaid finds its place
