Twenty Years Past
Twenty years past, the world left aghast
by a horror they thought was first and last.

Where two once stood, five became four, and the last had fell ashore.

The lives that tore, the world abhor, as we came to settle the score.

Those who grieve, they saw them leave
The cry for help would reach its eave.

The rubble away, the help would stray
But the scars continued to have their way.

The chaos ensued, the bloodshed accrued
While more who lost were left to stew.

Young died heroes, old crowded in bureaus,
the survivors fell into zeros.

Funds would fuel wars, but the eagle ignores
the scars left after the skirmish.

The infection would fester, and the Eagle becomes the jester

As twenty years of scars threatens to be its moral sequester.
