Black Shadow
In the land of shadows, where darkness reigns,
A lone figure stands, filled with pains,
Watching silently as a person grows old,
Feeling the weight of memories untold.

The shadow has been there since the very start,
A faithful companion, never far apart,
It has seen the person's triumphs and falls,
And now it watches as time slowly calls.

The shadow feels the ache of aching bones,
As the person grows weary and feels alone,
It sees the wrinkles forming on their face,
And knows that time cannot be erased.

But amidst the sadness and the fear,
There is a sense of love that is near,
For the shadow knows the person well,
And in their heart, there's a story to tell.

It remembers the laughter, the joy, the tears,
The moments of triumph, the moments of fears,
It holds onto those memories tight,
As it watches the person face the night.

The shadow sees the person's strength,
Their courage to go to any length,
To face each day with grace and poise,
Even as their body starts to make noise.

It feels the person's heartache and pain,
And wishes it could take it all away,
But all it can do is stand and watch,
As the person faces life's inevitable botch.

The shadow knows that all things must pass,
That time will come for them at last,
But it also knows that love endures,
Even as the person's spirit soars.

So it stands there, silent and strong,
A reminder of where we all belong,
In the land of shadows, where darkness reigns,
A place where love and memories remain.

And as the person grows old and gray,
The shadow will be there come what may,
A silent witness to a life well-lived,
A testament to the love they both give.

So let the shadow watch and see,
The person become who they're meant to be,
For in the end, when all is said and done,
It is love that shines brighter than the sun.
