When you look into the mirror.
Do you like the face you see?
Can you look into the eyes that are looking back and think,
I'm a little older but I can live with that.
Or do you think I don't look like that, that isn't really me.
The face that is looking back, is not a true reflection of the person that is me.
What are the lines with the passage of time that get etched into your face.
Are they the tell tale signs of the way you lived your life.
Or something that must be erased because I cannot look like that.
When you look into the eyes the passageway into your life.
The deep abyss that captures light and reflect the images that they see.
Are they bright and shiny or dulled by grief and strife.
Are they empty with no emotion?
The mirror cannot detect or reflect.
