I NEVER KNEW.
I never knew who you are,
Till you told it to me yourself.
I never knew how cruel you could be,
Till that day you clipped my throat.
I never knew how inhumane you are,
Till when I looked myself in the mirror.
I never knew how impolite you are,
Till when you rained those tirades of insults at me.
I never knew how fox-like you are,
Till when you left me in that labyrinth.
I never knew how two-edged you are,
Till when you betrayed me unhesitatingly.
But now I know,
Having seen myself in the mirror.
But now I know,
Having felt a tinge of cruelty in me.
But now I know,
Having crossed paths with those I love.
But now I know,
Having felt the coldness in me.
But now I know,
That I need to survive, and survive well.
