buffalo ‘66: the eyes that speak
“she tap dances right in from of his eyes while intimitating him with the clicks and clacks of her feet. she gives him the eyes of hers that shoot him right through his. she wants to make a fool out of him but she can’t because she is too in love with him..”

she dances her little heart away
while he despises her every move
he wants her body to be still
while controlling every part

she does not stop dancing
nor does she say a word to him
this makes him rage

he wants to get what he wants
so he uses the hands of a strangler
to grab onto her face
holds her mouth shut
and look her in the eyes
showing her his anger

she looks away with fear
thinking, why must he act this way?
what did she do to deserve
such angry mannerism,
toxicity and abusiveness
when she was a gentle, kind
and such a sweet-hearted girl

why would anyone rip off
her swan arms and let them bleed?

at every place, she’ll be walking
right by his side
touching his hand to hold it
just for him to snatch his hand away
“don’t you ever touch me.” he says.
she knows she shouldn’t stay with him
but she can’t seem to find a way to leave

what was the meaning to any of this?
meaning that wouldn’t provide
any happy words to its explanation
but only words that’ll make you sigh
knowing that this was just another
one of those kinds of relationships.

she’s thought about quitting dance
due to how depressed she’s gotten
but she doesn’t want to let go
of something that she loves
i guess that’s why she feels
the same way for him.

i’m sure he’d be happy if she quit
so then he could take control of her
way more than he does now
but then he’d have to see her
her eyes that he thought were ugly
to him, he sees gray ones
even though they’re a bright blue

he hates to look at her
but he does it anyway
just to look despiceful
just to hate her even more
just for him to know
that she’ll look back at him
with eyes that are admireable
but why would she admire him?
why the hell would she do that?

she doesn’t have an answer
for she can’t speak at all
maybe that’s what she’s into
and thinks what love is

she hopes that he’ll look at her
as she shyly looks away from him
dancing right in front of him
and then circling him
as he sits and watches
with eyes of disgust.

the movie: buffalo ‘66)
