Gods Among Men
My friend and I were having a conversation last night.
The old Gods
In Rome
Walked among the people of Rome all the time.
They say they built the wall around Troy
and that is why it was so hard to penitrate.
So it is wild to me
There was some brown-skinned foreigner,
a carpenter,
probably poor,
walking around claiming to be the son of God.
So was Achilles!
And yet, here we are 2000 years later
With one legend that survived
And one that faded into pop culture.
