"Surround sound"

She fails to hear the voice thats loudest,
Her own thoughts they seem the farthest.
The voice thats in her head and heart
Is always ignored even when it makes a splat.
She's focuses on every one else but herself,
Her mind is a library with torn books on a broken shelf.
It asks, "When will we get our act together,
When will we carry out our own agenda"?
She has no reply, she can't find an answer,
Her negligence of self love has turned into a cancer.
Comparison takes over, her mind is never sober.
Her attention is on everyone else, one after another.
How won't her drowning self esteem plunge her deeper?
She has ears, but she still cannot listen
A thousand times her innermost self has died and risen.
She has no hope, her mind and body are bound,
Overwhelmed by all of the surround sound.
