Pause My Thoughts
It's late at night
The ticking of the clock keeps me awake
I lay in bed, tossing and turning,
With no one to keep me company besides my thoughts.
Why do I always replay certain things over and over again in my head?
Whether it be good or bad.
It's like a never-ending loop.
I want it to stop so bad, but I can't -
I just can't control my thoughts
Maybe my mind has a life of its own?
It never rests and it never lets me rest.
Sometimes I wish I could pause my thoughts.....
For at least a second.
Not to tangle up in the infinite web of my mind
But to give into blissful repose!
