Age is just a number
I give up every year,
Just as i get used to it.
The next number in line
Is mine, i don't get to pick.
I am a queue of numbers,
Tokens i don't want called.
Everyone i know has a number
Too. Babies smaller numbers,
And then olders like me higher.
The line thins and seems to fade
After hundred. I'm sorry this isn't
Any way to celebrate an impending
Birthday. I'll be having a new number
Card soon. Brand new. Shuffling ahead.
