The 1000-Yards Stare
They say a pen is better than a sword,
yet genocide and violence remain in command.
Armies would march in hell while killing one another.
Dang! what a cruel world to live in!
There is no victor in bloodshed.
Both teams suffer casualties.
Cuz' dead bodies are scattered everywhere,
and mangled souls are buried alive on the battleground.
Soldiers protect you, but why can't they protect themselves?
They've fought enough just to gain trauma.
The agony will remain even after their deaths.
And bullets would pierce through their torsos again and again.
These battalions would look through you.
Cuz' they have witnessed events that cannot be undone.
Their eyes dilate from the warfare,
and they would think about their families while unconsciously closing their eyes forever.
