Prudence of words

Words, like swords, can cut and harm
Or heal and uplift, dispel all alarm
The prudent choose them with great care
Lest they inflict wounds beyond repair

Their tongues, a treasure to behold
Speak truth, yet tempered, young and old
They measure each word, a delicate art
Lest harshness pierce, or hearts depart

In silence, they often find their strength
And wisdom, in the words they length
For language has the power to bless
Or curse, and prudent hearts confess

That words, like gems, must be polished bright
To shine with kindness, day and night
So let us speak, with thoughtful grace
And choose our words, with a prudent face.
